At Heartprints Equine Assisted Coaching, we believe healing doesn’t always begin with words.

Through guided, hands-on experiences with horses, clients are invited into a space of awareness, reflection, and growth. Horses respond honestly to human emotion, offering a unique and judgment-free way to explore what you’re feeling and how you move through the world.

Often referred to as “horse therapy,” equine-assisted coaching is a non-clinical, experiential approach that supports emotional well-being, personal development, and deeper self-understanding. Rather than focusing on diagnosis or treatment, this work centers on connection, presence, and real-time feedback through interaction with horses.

No horse experience is necessary. This is not about riding or performance — it’s about connection.

Is This Right for You?

Equine assisted coaching can support individuals in many different seasons of life.

This work may be a good fit if you are:

  • Navigating a life transition such as divorce, loss, or career change
  • Seeking grounding, clarity, or emotional support
  • Currently in counseling or therapy and looking for additional support
  • Wanting to build confidence, communication skills, or self-awareness
  • Feeling stuck and unsure of your next step
  • Drawn to horses and open to a different kind of experience

You don’t need to have the “right words” or a clear plan. You simply need a willingness to show up.

What Is Equine Assisted Coaching?

Equine Assisted Coaching brings together three elements: you, a certified coach, and a horse.

Horses are highly attuned to emotional energy. They respond to what is happening beneath the surface — often reflecting patterns, behaviors, or emotions that may not be immediately obvious. This creates an opportunity to observe, learn, and shift in a way that feels natural and authentic.

Equine-assisted coaching is sometimes described as a “cousin to therapy.” While it can support emotional healing and personal growth, it is not clinical therapy. Instead, it offers a hands-on, experiential way to develop awareness, build new tools, and create meaningful change.

Each session is unique. There is no script, no pressure, and no expectation to perform.

What to Expect During a Session

Most sessions take place on the ground — no riding is involved.

You may spend time:

  • In the horse’s stall
  • In the barn aisle
  • In the arena
  • Walking alongside a horse around the ranch

Your coach will gently guide the experience, helping you notice what’s happening and explore what it may be reflecting back to you.

Sessions typically last between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

Clients are welcome to arrive early or stay after their session to sit, reflect, and take in the peaceful surroundings of the ranch.
